Inbox shows formatting symbols instead of formatted text

In the Inbox, open a thread whose comment used bold, a heading or a bullet list (for example the 'Test comment with formatting' comment on the TAH project). The thread pane shows the raw markdown, e.g. Heading and - bullet, instead of formatted text like the review page shows. Seen on desktop Chrome, inbox page /inbox.
